Steel Fabrication & Manufacturing Process

The main steel components were manufactured using an automated welded H-beam production line to ensure consistent quality and fabrication accuracy.

The manufacturing process included:

  • CNC plasma cutting for steel plate preparation
  • Automated H-beam assembly
  • Submerged arc welding
  • CO₂ gas shielded welding
  • Shot blasting for surface preparation
  • Industrial coating and painting

All steel members were shot blasted to Sa2.5 surface preparation grade before coating, providing enhanced corrosion resistance and improving the service life of the steel structure.

After fabrication and quality inspection, the completed steel components were transported to the project site for installation.

Structural Connection & Quality Control

The project adopted 10.9S high-strength friction-type bolts for beam-column connections, ensuring reliable structural performance and load transfer capability.

Welding quality inspection was conducted according to project requirements:

  • Primary welded joints for tension members were inspected to higher-level quality requirements.
  • Compression member welds were inspected according to specified standards.
  • Full-strength connection welds and butt welds were subject to strict quality inspection.
  • Secondary welds were inspected according to standard acceptance requirements.

The steel structure followed strict quality control procedures throughout fabrication, including material inspection, welding control, dimensional inspection, surface treatment verification, and final product inspection.

Surface Treatment & Corrosion Protection

The steel components were treated with Sa2.5 grade shot blasting before painting.

For fire-protected steel members:

  • Two coats of red oxide primer were applied.
  • Total dry film thickness reached 75μm.

For steel members without fire protection requirements:

  • Two coats of anti-corrosion primer and two coats of finishing paint were applied.
  • Outdoor steel components achieved a total dry film thickness of 150μm.
  • Indoor steel components achieved a total dry film thickness of 125μm.

This coating system provides reliable corrosion protection for long-term industrial applications.
